Callejón Río Bravo: from community space to international activation.

Before

The Alley between Agua Caliente Boulevard and Río Bravo Street was a forgotten urban point, used as a dumping ground and abandonment area.

Intervention

The space was cleaned, 100 meters of murals were activated, lighting was improved and infrastructure was prepared for community events.

Result

The Alley became the scene of fairs, classes, presentations, cultural tours and outdoor family gatherings.

Recognition

The project was selected within the framework of World Design Capital and was presented at the Exchange Pavilion in Balboa Park.

Community

Neighbors, artists and activists

The transformation was built with local participation: cleaning the space, cultural programming, environmental fairs and murals that connect Tijuana identity with environmental awareness.

Environment Day

Art as public activation

The celebrations included an environmental fair, a mural dedicated to Jackie Nava, an international exhibition, guest artists and urban interventions to generate conversation in the territory.

World Design Capital

From Tijuana to Balboa Park
